Maximum notary fees set by California law

The following are the maximum fees a notary public may charge under California Government Code §8211. We may charge less than these amounts.

  • Acknowledgments or proofs$15 per signature
  • Jurat (oath or affirmation)$15 per signature
  • Depositions$30, plus $7 for the oath and $7 for the certificate
  • Certified copy of a power of attorney$15
  • Vote-by-mail / voting materialsNo charge
  • Veterans' benefit applications or claimsNo charge

A travel fee, agreed upon in advance, may apply for our mobile service and is separate from the notary fees above.
